I discovered my love of ceramics while I was attending Arizona State University where I received a Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design. I am currently on the Board of Directors of two local arts organizations. This gives me the opportunity to give back to my community of artists.

I am an anthophile. I love flowers. I am drawn to the special relationship that humans have with flowers. Flowers are a multi-sensory experience that includes sight, smell, and touch. I find wonder in the details of each species and dissect down to the smallest details to create abstracts or replicas of my favorites. As I create my ceramic garden, either by single bloom, bouquet, or wall installation, the aesthetic experience of each flower leads to an embedded experience of feeling connected positively to the world. They connect us to the Earth. We are currently in a dilemma where global warming and climate change are impacting our plant life, pollinators and flowers. I hope my sculptures bring notice and awareness to the importance of protecting our environment. If my garden gets a smile or a nod, I am thrilled. I hope it takes viewer back to a happy time in their life and encourages necessary changes to ensure we continue to be able to enjoy the real thing.

I am a firm believer in the power of experimentation and play in the artistic process. I often incorporate unconventional materials and techniques into my work, which allows me to explore new ideas and push the boundaries of my craft. I often participate in various workshops to further develop my range and hone my skills.
